Deplan v1.3: QR codes, total spend & leave groups 📸

Hey everyone! 👋

We just released v1.3 and wanted to share what's new. This update focuses on some of the features you've been asking for, plus a bunch of quality-of-life improvements that should make the app feel smoother overall.

The big additions this time around are QR code sharing for groups (finally!), group spending totals so you can actually see how much of your money was spent, and the ability to leave groups when you're done with them. We've also cleaned up a lot of the smaller annoyances that were bugging people.

Here's what changed:

Share & Scan Group QR Codes

New share sheet: sharing groups has never been easier. The new share sheet shows a QR code that your friends can use to quickly join the group. Otherwise, Deplan detects the most used social media apps that you might have installed (Telegram, WhatsApp, Instagram & FB Messenger) allowing to share the invite link in one tap. Otherwise you can always copy the invite to the clipboard or use the regular system share dialog.
Share sheet on join: another small improvement is that when you now create a group, the group will automatically open and show the share sheet. Removing a couple of taps and making everything more straightforward.
Scan QR code: any QR code scanner will work for scanning the invite codes, but just in case, we've also built a QR code scanner inside the app. Simply go to the Add group option on the home screen & select the new Join a group via QR code option. Once a group QR code is detected, the app will directly automatically redirect you to the group where you can join as usual.
Leave groups: a missing option in Deplan was leaving groups. If you're done with a group (the trip is over, not needed etc.) but you'd like to keep it accessible for the rest of the members, you can now simply leave the group from the group settings. Done. No more dangling groups on the home screen.

Group Totals

This is the most requested feature so far! We will now be able to see the total amount that the group has spent (Total spend) as well as how much of that has been for you (Your share). This should make budgeting and checking the total cost of a trip a breeze. What other statistics would you like to see?

Performance & Everyday Fixes

When a balance is less than the minimum amount (eg. less than 1 cent) we no longer show a bar in the balances tab. This should make much more clear when all debts have been settled.
Little touches on both platforms make group expense tracking as effortless as possible. For example, on iOS we are now showing some progressive blur behind the FABs & we have a new loading state for the balances tab on Android.
Oh, and sharing and opening invite links on iOS should have greatly improved. Even from Instagram and other in-app browsers.

At its core, Deplan is all about making splitting, tracking, and settling group expenses the easiest (and least awkward) part of going out or planning something together.
